For more than 21 years, RoseMary's NoteBook(c), the original and uniquely Australian newsletter focussing on the respect and dignity of plus-size women, has been advocating and championing the rights of women everywhere, regardless of age, shape and size (c)
When the newsletter began as a one-pager sent to local business women , there was no other publication presenting "positive" messages for and to plus-size women in Australia - we took up the challenge! For that matter back then there was nothing coming through from overseas either. Various books had been written informing and advising plus-size women how to change their lives including what to wear, but in the main these were written by younger women who were slim - unfortunately they did not understand or recognise the special needs, both physical and emotional, of the plus-size woman as opposed to the slim and trim woman. They still don't understand!
Over those 21 years, the NoteBook (c) as it is fondly known, grew to more than 100 pages every month, in both black and white and colour, and its mailing list grew to many thousands. The newsletter wended its way around the world - to the USA, the UK, New Zealand, the Pacific Islands, the Virgin Islands, Scandanavia, and to expatriates in Africa, Hong Kong, Asia. Women all around Australia embraced it's message and philosophy and so the newsletter found its way into post boxes in all major and regional cities as well as small hamlets consisting of only one family!
We've now moved another step forward and have our own blog. We'd like you to visit and become more acquainted with our concept.
